In pre-puchase home inspections, we adhere to the standards of ASHI®, the American Society of Home Inspectors, The broad catagories of the inspection are: Structural elements (foundation, attic framing, basement framing building support systems)Interior: walls, ceiling, floors, attic, windows, stairways, hand railings, fireplaces, kitchen and appliances, insulation (where visible). Site/Grounds (sidewalks, driveway, patios)Plumbing systems (water supply, distribution piping, water heaters, fuel supply, drain/waste/vent piping, sinks fixtures, water flow/pressure) Heating and air conditioning systems (type, components, size, fuels, condition, functionality, approximate age, distribution, ventilation) Electrical systems (service supply, distribution, main/sub panels, outlets, switches, GFCI testing, grounding) Basements (foundation walls, crawl spaces, window wells, observable water penetration, beams and posts) Within these broad catagories, hundreds of indiviual considerations are made and commented on where appropriate.
